"In an unusual three-month experiment, six specialists from a variety of disciplines" discovered that 10 simple measures helped foster happiness in a British town.

These measures became incorporated in what is now known as "The Happiness Manifesto".

"[T]he aim of [of the experiment was to plant] the "seeds of happiness" amongst [a] core group who will then spread their cheer to others in a ripple effect."
